After one of the most roller coaster like weeks of my life, I thought what a better time to finally meet my goal of starting a photography blog! The first two weeks of 2009 have already brought many surprises. As 2008 came to an end, and I began thinking about my coast-to-coast adventures, my odd jobs, my summer in NYC and my fall in LA, it seemed my rash decisions had finally caught up with me. In constantly trying to keep my dreams in motion though, I was shooting on the regular and spending a few days a week working in the Art Department Los Angeles magazine. (http://lamag.com/) Little did I know what was ahead. In one swift moment my 2 most prized possessions were stolen from me. One being my camera! The other being my jeep! (not just any jeep..the jeep that I drove from Manhattan to LA in October!) Okay, I'm not one to doubt my dreams but as I realized my camera was gone my dreams of becoming a professional photographer suddenly felt out of reach. After a long week, some serious soul searching of what it was I really wanted to do...I found myself in my new Manhattan. MANHATTAN BEACH, that is!! :-) Fortunately one of the most wonderful people that I've met in LA, photographer Kevin Michael Schmitz came to the rescue. (Check out his amazing work at http://www.kevinschmitz.com/) He let me borrow his camera for what turned out to be an awesome shoot on the beach! As I snapped photos of actress, Stephanie Davies, her energy and beauty reminded how much I love taking photos, how inspiring a good shoot can be.
